Report: NCAA passes one-time transfer waiver

Like it or not, the one-time transfer waiver is coming to college sports.

The news won’t be official until Thursday but Nicole Auerbach of The Athletic is reporting that the NCAA’s Division I Council has voted to pass the measure during its current meetings. The meeting ends on Thursday, that’s where the hold-up is when it comes to the official announcement.

One important note regarding this rule, the SEC overrules any NCAA decisions, so the conference will still have to decide whether it will allow a one-time transfer rule within the league following this news.

The NCAA Division I Council is also expected to end the recruiting dead period during this meeting, but again, that won’t be officially announced until Thursday.
