NCAA Research: SEC resides in six of the top 10 recruiting states in the country
Most agree that the SEC sits in the most fertile region in the country for recruiting and the latest research from the NCAA backs it up.
According to @NCAAResearch on Twitter, the top three states with the highest percentage of their high school players recruited by a division one school are SEC states.
Florida leads the way with 9.5 percent of their players recruited by a DI school, and they are followed by Georgia and Louisiana with 8.7 and 8.6 percent.
The SEC owns three other states in the top 10 with South Carolina at No. 6 with 6.6 percent, Tennessee at No. 7 with 6.4 percent and Alabama at No. 10 with 5.5 percent.
The southern United States has always been considered a hotbed for college football players, and the NCAA’s research seems to validate that.
