The Scott Frost era is over, and even though the appeal of former Nebraska quarterback Mickey Joseph coming in and winning the starting job is a nice sentiment, it’s fairly unlikely that he stays in that role for too long.
In a short Twitter thread, former Nebraska assistant Joe Moglia said he thought Coastal Carolina head coach Jamey Chadwell – Moglia’s successor as head coach in Myrtle Beach – would be a good fit inn Lincoln.
It doesn’t surprise me that Coach Chadwell would be one of the names linked with the Nebraska job, or any other top job for that matter. I was contacted a couple weeks ago by someone close to the decision making process and was asked my thought with regard to a replacement (1/2)

Chadwell led the Chanticleers to an 11-1 season in 2020 and an 11-2 season the year following. He’s just the 3rd Group of 5 coach to win the AP College Coach of the Year Award.
It would be an interesting scenario, but we’ll see if this actually has any legs soon enough. Other candidates for the head coaching position are Matt Campbell, Bill O’Brien and, for some reason, according to Pete Thamel, PJ Fleck.
