New Mexico grieving sudden death of current football player

The New Mexico football team is mourning the loss of defensive lineman Nahje Flowers, who died Tuesday at the age of 21. According to USA Today, no cause of death has been provided as of yet.
“Our entire football team and everyone who knew Nahje (Flowers) are devastated by this loss,” New Mexico coach Bob Davie wrote in a statement. “Nahje was a wonderful person and great teammate.”
New Mexico Athletic Director Eddie Nuñez added “Nanje was an incredible young man. Our entire Lobo Football family mourns his passing, and our prayers go out to his family.”

Flowers had been part of the New Mexico football program since 2016. He redshirted as a freshman and then played in 24 games combined during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. This fall, Flowers recorded 13 tackles, including 2.0 for loss with 1.5 sacks in six games.
