LSU’s stint at the top of the recruiting rankings was a short one as Alabama has regained the top spot in the 2020 recruiting cycle following Jaquelin Roy’s decision to decommit from Ed Orgeron’s program Thursday evening.

If you missed it late last night, Roy, the nation’s No. 10 defensive tackle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings, announced he was backing off his pledge to LSU. The Baton Rouge native has not indicated if he’s eliminating the Tigers from his recruitment at this point but he is scheduled to visit Tuscaloosa for a recruiting visit this weekend. Adding insult to injury for LSU, Roy’s decommitment drops the Tigers to the No. 2 spot in the 2020 team recruiting rankings.

In the updated 247Sports Composite Team Rankings, Alabama has a score of 214.38 from 11 commitments (which consists of one five-star, nine four-stars and one three-star) while LSU has a score of 202.19 from 10 commitments (one five-star, eight four-stars and one three-star).

Texas A&M is the next highest ranked SEC program at No. 7, Florida is No. 8, Auburn No. 9, Mississippi State No. 10, South Carolina No. 19, Georgia No. 20 with No. 21 Tennessee the only other league program in the top 25 at the moment.
