Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin have another coaching vacancy to fill on their staff.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, newly hired special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer is heading to the NFL.

“Source: Jeremy Springer has accepted a job as the Rams new assistant special teams coach. Springer spent last year at Marshall and had recently agreed to become the Ole Miss special teams coach,” Thamel tweeted.

Springer had agreed to become the Rebels special teams coordinator this past week, but it’s tough to turn down an opportunity with the Super Bowl Champions.

The 2021 season was Springer’s first season at Marshall. He joined the Thundering Herd after 3 seasons at Arizona (2018-20) on Kevin Sumlin’s staff.

Springer joins Chris Kiffin as joining Ole Miss’ coaching staff and then quickly leaving for an NFL job.
