Bears defensive back Eddie Jackson switching back to his Alabama jersey number

Eddie Jackson is going back to his roots.
Thanks to a new rule in the NFL that was put into place this offseason, defensive backs are now permitted to wear single-digit jersey numbers.
While he has worn No. 39 his entire NFL career up to this point, Jackson is switching back to No. 4, which is the jersey number he wore during his time in Tuscaloosa.
During his four seasons in Chicago, Jackson has started all 62 games he has appeared in and has made 266 tackles, 10 interceptions, scored three touchdowns, defended 31 passes and forced seven fumbles. Jackson was named First-Team All-Pro in 2018 and has made the Pro Bowl twice during his pro career.
Jackson was named a team captain at Alabama during his senior season and was honored as a Second-Team All-SEC selection despite the fact he suffered a season-ending leg injury against Texas A&M, which was the eighth game of the season for the defensive back.
Jackson was a First-Team All-SEC selection and All-American selection following his junior season. The Bears selected Jackson in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
