If you missed the NFL season opener on Thursday night, Kansas City coach Andy Reid was the first coach to test out a face shield during a televised football game.

Needless to say, the coach wasn’t very happy with it.

“That was brutal,” Reid said after the game. “I didn’t do very good with that thing. Listen, it will be better the next time. I appreciate you asking that, it was a bit of a mess.”

While the face shield didn’t prevent Reid from leading the Chiefs to a season-opening win, John Harbaugh took notice of the difficulties the Kansas City coach faced.

“I dismissed that after last night,” Harbaugh said following Friday’s practice, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.

Apparently Harbaugh has been busy trying out many alternatives leading up to the Ravens’ season opener against Cleveland in Baltimore.

“I did look in the mirror, and I was like, ‘Eh, I don’t think so,'” Harbaugh added.

While Reid was struggling with his visibility during the game, fans were eager to poke fun of the look on Thursday night.
