Great news to share for one of the best linemen in recent Arkansas and SEC history as the Detroit Lions are set to make Frank Ragnow the NFL’s highest-paid center.

Ragnow, a protege of Sam Pittman during the coach’s time serving as offensive line coach in Fayetteville, was selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, with the 20th overall pick.

Now comes word from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter that the Lions plan to lock up Ragnow with a new four-year deal.

The Lions center will be given a contract worth $13.5 million annually, which brings his total contract value close to $70 million. NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero released details of the deal.

During his three seasons in the NFL, Ragnow has started all 45 games he has played for the Lions.
