Former Ole Miss standout A.J. Brown had a sensational rookie season with the Tennessee Titans, hauling in 52 catches for 1,051 yards. Some players suffer sophomore slumps but one of the all-time greats at Brown’s position is predicting a second-year surge.
Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson shared some thoughts on Brown while tweeting Sunday. Ochocinco shared that he sees the opportunity to make some money backing Johnson.
“A.J. Brown….. that’s the tweet for today because he’s a (expletive) animal… 1500 yard 2020 season & I’m taking that to Caesar’s Palace,” Johnson tweeted.
In a second tweet tagged as a reply to Brown, Johnson expanded on his big prediction for Brown.
“Just finished watching all your catches from last season, i foresee 1500 this year easily, your RAC is going to be the reason,” Johnson wrote to Brown.
The stats run after catch (RAC) and yards after catch (YAC) are used interchangeably. According to FOX Sports, Brown was No. 14 in the league last year in YAC with 465. If Brown hits the 1,500 receiving yards mark as Ochocinco predicts, the former Rebel could finish the season as the NFL’s top receiver. Last year, New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas led all pass-catchers with 1,725 receiving yards. Antonio Brown led the league with 1,533 receiving yards in 2017. The previous year, T.Y. Hilton was No. 1 with 1,448 yards.
