Jaylen Waddle has just come off the board in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was taken No. 6 overall by the Miami Dolphins.
During his three seasons in Tuscaloosa, the sensational receiver found ways to impact Alabama’s team in many facets of the game. Waddle caught 106 passes for 1,999 yards and 17 touchdowns, he returned 38 punts for 733 yards and two touchdowns and returned nine kickoffs for 214 yards and another score.
Waddle was well on his way to having his best season in Tuscaloosa last fall before suffering a broken ankle against Tennessee on Oct. 24. He was injured on the opening kickoff of the game.
Instead of shutting himself down and focusing all of his rehab efforts on a full recovery leading up to the 2021 NFL Draft, Waddle managed to return to the field for the Crimson Tide and played in the national championship game on Jan. 11.
In the title game against Ohio State, Waddle caught three passes for 34 yards and played despite clearly being limited as he worked his way back from his ankle injury.
