Tyler Simmons just earned his latest shot in the NFL.

After going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, the former Georgia receiver landed with the Houston Texans last offseason. Unfortunately, like many undrafted free agents, with NFL teams losing the vast majority of camp time and preseason practice, players like Simmons didn’t have much of a shot of landing on the full-time roster.

That’s what happened to Simmons, as the Texans released him during the season after initially signing him as a practice squad player.

Now with a full offseason of work upcoming, Simmons has landed in Pittsburgh on a one-year deal. The Steelers announced the news on Monday after Simmons participated in Georgia’s Pro Day event last week in Athens.

During his time in Athens, Simmons racked up 35 catches for 438 yards and three touchdowns. Simmons also contributed 220 rushing yards and two more scores on the ground in college.
