SEC schools dominate list of programs with the most players on NFL rosters entering 2020 season

Another NFL season, another list showing off just how well the Southeastern Conference does when it comes to preparing players for the game’s highest level.

The 2020 NFL season starts on Thursday with the Houston Texans traveling to Kansas City to take on the defending Super Bowl champions in a contest that will be broadcast nationally by NBC starting at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.

With the season set to begin in just over 48 hours, the 53-man rosters from around the league had to be finalized this week. After all 32 NFL franchises cut their rosters down to 53, we now know how many SEC alums made the cut.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, Alabama, LSU, Florida and Georgia all rank in the top seven when it comes to having the most players from their school on NFL rosters.

Here is the breakdown of the top eight schools that have produced NFL talent for the 2020 season, as shared by Field Yates:

#1 Alabama: 55
#2 Ohio State: 50
#3 LSU: 42
#4 Florida: 39
#5 Penn State: 34
#6 Michigan: 33
#7 Georgia: 32
#8 Miami: 31
