The Buffalo Bills are already viable Super Bowl contenders, but apparently they wanted to bolster their odds with the services of a Tennessee product.
The Bills sought a trade for New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, according to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, via ProFootballTalk. Glazer reports that the inquiry went nowhere and the Bills were “rebuffed.”
This comes after a previous recent rumor about the Philadelphia Eagles having interest as well in Kamara.
The 27-year-old Kamara has rushed for 351 yards and no touchdowns, with an average of 4.6 yards per carry this season. Heading into Sunday, Kamara has rushed for 4,589 yards and 47 touchdowns for an average of 4.6 yards per carry for his career.
Kamara was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2017. Kamara is a 5-time Pro Bowler and a 2-time member of the Second-team All-Pro list. Kamara also is tied for the most rushing touchdowns (6) in a single NFL game with Ernie Nevers and Gale Sayers.
Kamara tallied 1,294 yards and 16 touchdowns, while averaging 6.2 yards per carry during his 2 seasons at Tennessee. Kamara recorded these totals despite starting in only 8 of his 24 games because he shared the backfield with Jalen Hurd. He started his college career at Alabama before transferring.
