Former SEC defensive back Maurice Smith finds new home in the NFL

Maurice Smith has found a new home in the NFL.

According to Jim Wyatt of Titans Online, Smith has been added to the Tennessee Titans’ practice squad.

The former Alabama and Georgia defensive back was most recently with Washington after beginning his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins.

Smith was not selected in the 2017 NFL Draft but was picked up by the Dolphins and played in 13 games with Miami in two seasons with the franchise. He made two appearances in Washington during the 2019 NFL season.

During his time in college, Smith registered a total of 88 tackles with two interceptions, 2.5 sacks, three forced fumbles with eight passes defended.
