Urban Meyer got his way, Tim Tebow is officially a member of the Jaguars.
Of course, the Heisman Trophy winner from Florida will still have to earn his way on to the 53-man roster, but Tebow has just officially been added to the Jaguars’ training camp roster as the team announced his signing on Thursday.
Tebow last played in the NFL back in 2012. Back then, Tebow was playing quarterback but he is transitioning to tight end in Jacksonville. During his time away from professional football, Tebow pursued a career as a professional baseball player.
“I want to thank the Jaguars for the opportunity to compete and earn the chance to be part of this team. I know it will be a challenge, but it is a challenge I embrace,” Tebow said via a released statement.
“I am dedicated to taking the direction of our coaching staff and learning from my teammates. I appreciate everyone’s support as I embark on this new journey.”
Now Meyer and Tebow are reunited on the football field and will be trying to prove they belong in the NFL together.
