Good news from Miami: Tua Tagovailoa available if needed for the Dolphins heading into season opener

The Dolphins have already named Ryan Fitzpatrick the starting quarterback in Miami but should Tua Tagovailoa be needed on the field, the rookie from Alabama should be a full-go to hit the field.
That’s the latest out of Miami where Tagovailoa was a full participant this week at practice and is available heading into the season opener according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Miami is scheduled to start the season Sunday at New England in a 1 p.m. ET/ 12 p.m. CT kick off in a game televised by CBS.
When asked recently if the plan was to sit the rookie signal-caller for the season, Miami head coach Brian Flores downplayed that idea.
“Everyone has to be ready to go. When your number is called you have to go in and try to be productive, and if your number is not called, you have to stay ready,” Flores said according to the Sun-Sentinel. “That’s the approach I’d like all our players to take.”
Tagovailoa was selected with the No. 5 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft after throwing for 7,442 yards and 87 touchdowns for Alabama in three seasons.
