Nic Anderson injury update: Oklahoma reportedly fears multi-week absence
Nic Anderson could be dealing a long-term injury.
It’s feared that Anderson could miss “several more weeks” as he deals with a quad injury, according to a report.
That news was first shared by 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz on Friday afternoon. As Zenitz notes, Anderson has appeared in just 1 game so far this season. He made his 2024 debut against Tennessee a couple of weeks ago but re-injured his quad during that game.

Anderson was setup to be one of Oklahoma’s top wide receivers this season if healthy. He was a breakout performer last season as a freshman, catching 38 passes for 798 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Oklahoma’s wide receiver room has been decimated by injuries in 2024. Andrel Anthony has been very limited as he makes his way back from a serious knee injury. Jayden Gibson was ruled out for the year after suffering an injury in fall camp. Jalil Farooq suffered a foot injury in OU’s season-opener and is expected to miss more time.
There’s also Deion Burks, who missed the Auburn game with an injury as well. Brent Venables told reporters earlier this week that Burks will have a chance to be ready to face Texas in Week 7.
Still, with this update on Anderson, it seems likely the Sooners will be without 4 of their top 5 wide receiver options when they take on Texas on Oct. 12.
