Bulldogs fans weren’t the only ones impressed by Nick Chubb’s performance in the Chick Fil A Kickoff Game.
The Maxwell Football Club announced Thursday that Chubb is the organization’s player of the week. In his first game back since injuring his knee on Oct. 10, 2015, Chubb gashed the North Carolina defense for 222 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries.
The junior ball-carrier previously earned Maxwell’s player of the week honor in 2014 following his 202-yard performance against Arkansas. The Maxwell Football Club recognizes the national player of the year at the end of each season. Two Bulldogs – Charley Trippi (1946) and Herschel Walker (1982) – have earned the Maxwell Award.
Chubb and the Bulldogs face Nicholls State this Saturday.
