Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall was cited for less than one ounce of marijuana today in Reynolds, Georgia, via WSFA.com. The news site spoke directly with Reynolds Police Chief Ronnie Holder.

Marshall wasn’t arrested but issued a citation. Marshall’s vehicle was pulled over due to a possible window tinting violation, according to the chief. The officer reported smelling pot but found only residue amounting to less than a single ounce.

Marshall is largely figured to be a Heisman frontrunner in 2014, leading the defending SEC Champion Auburn Tigers.

Gus Malzahn released a statement: I am aware of the situation that happened earlier today with Nick. I’m very disappointed and I will address it with him accordingly.
