Nick Saban has rolled with a true freshman, Kadyn Proctor, as his starting left tackle this season. Granted, Proctor was the No. 1 tackle in the 2023 class, but a freshman starting at left tackle in the SEC is a tough task.

“I know the expectation is we can replace anybody, anytime and they’re going to step in and play like a first-round draft pick, but that’s not necessarily the case,” Saban said. “We all have to have time to develop players.”

The Alabama offensive line has not been great this season. The Tide are No. 129 in the nation in sacks allowed, giving up an average of 4.43 sacks per game. Overall, the unit has allowed 31 sacks over 7 games.
However, Saban knows this is all part of the process.
“All this is a part of growing up. If any of y’all have had kids, you’ve gone through this a little bit with your own kids. We just have a bunch of them, that’s all,” explained Saban.
