Alabama traveled to Fayetteville this weekend as a huge favorite and will return to Tuscaloosa a winner after coming away with a 34-point win in a 65-31 beating of Arkansas.

The Crimson Tide was once again led by Tua Tagovailoa, as the sophomore passed for 334 yards and four touchdowns after completing 10 of 13 throws in the game. The Tide racked up a total of 639 yards of offense but continues to look vulnerable on the ground, giving up 172 rushing yards to the Razorbacks.

Immediately after the game, Nick Saban was asked to share his thoughts on Alabama’s latest win.

“I thought we played a little bit better for awhile — we scored 65 points, can’t complain too much on offense but defensively, we didn’t execute very well,” Saban commented. “You have to give them a lot of credit for the job they did but still disappointing that we aren’t making the improvement we’d like on that side of the ball.”

Arkansas racked up a total of 405 yards on offense and converted six of 12 third down conversions. The Razorbacks had three turnovers in the game and Alabama had none. Saban may have a point there, had the turnover battle was even in this game, it could have been a much tighter contest.

Saban was then asked about the play of his reserves and younger players. The Alabama coach noted this week that his second-unit, particularly on defense, needed to improve their game.

“I think the experience is invaluable to them, so the more they get to play, the more I think they’ll improve,” Saban replied.
