The Alabama Crimson Tide are dominating the College Football Playoff National Championship Game against Ohio State in Miami on Monday night.
At halftime, the Tide hold a 35-17 lead over the Buckeyes, and Heisman winner DeVonta Smith is having an incredible game. Through the first 2 quarters, he has 12 catches for 215 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Heading into the locker room, coach Nick Saban had plenty of praise for Smith and OC Steve Sarkisian:
“He’s doing a great job of making plays for us,” Saban said of Smith. “Sark’s doing a great job of putting him in position to make plays. The whole offense is really playing well. We’ve just gotta play a little better on defense, get some more stops. We’ve made some mistakes that have given them some big plays. They’re very capable on offense, so there’s no scoreboard in this thing, in terms of how I feel.”
Of course, this is the national title game, so don’t count the Buckeyes out just yet. Saban will make sure his team comes out strong in the third quarter.
Alabama gets the ball to see if it can add on to its big lead coming out of the intermission. It should be an interesting finish!
