Nick Saban held his first press conference of spring practice on Friday. Alabama will be down 3 plays for the spring, Saban told members of the media.
“We have a couple guys that are gonna be out for the spring,” Saban told reporters. “Ja’Corey Brooks is out for the spring. Darrian Dalcourt will be out for the spring. Keanu Koht, all those guys are out for the spring. Whether they had injuries coming out of the season or whatever.
“All the other players are doing some portion of practice and are making some progress toward being able to practice at some point in time this spring, and those assessments will be made as they make progress throughout the spring.”
Brooks, a former 5-star recruit, is entering his sophomore season. As a freshman, Brooks played in all 15 games for the Crimson Tide. Brooks made 15 catches for 192 yards and 2 touchdowns. His production came over the final 6 games of UA’s 2021 campaign.
Dalcourt, a senior, earned the starting center job in last year’s preseason camp and went on to make 11 starts.
Koht, a former top-60 prospect in the class of 2021, did not see the field in his first year on campus.
