Nick Saban calls out all that ‘stuff’ that happened during Alabama’s trip to Baton Rouge
Despite a 55-17 victory over LSU on Saturday, things could have gone better for the Crimson Tide.
Alabama coach Nick Saban told reporters the electricity coincidentally went out just as the Tide were about to have religious services and eat a pre-game meal. As a result, Saban’s squad had to eat dinner in the dark.
“The electricity went off in the hotel right when we were going to our religious service, half-hour before pre-game meal,” Saban said. “We had to eat the pre-game meal in the dark. You know, stuff happens.”
Here’s Saban’s press conference where he explained the situation:
It didn’t seem to impact Alabama on the field. Quarterback Mac Jones completed 20-of-28 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns. A lot of that production was thanks to Devonta Smith, who caught eight balls for 231 yards and three scores.
This win was a small taste of revenge for LSU winning in Tuscaloosa last season en route to the Tigers’ undefeated National Championship.
Alabama is set to face Arkansas this weekend before meeting up with Florida for the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 19.
