For the eighth time in his coaching career, Alabama’s Nick Saban will be making a December trip to the Georgia Dome. The six-time SEC winner called the conference title game the second-most competitive venue he’s been a part of.
“The only better competitive venue I’ve played in is the national championship game,” Saban said on a Sunday teleconference with reporters.
Saban won a pair of SEC titles with LSU (2001, 2003). Saturday’s game against Florida will mark Alabama’s sixth appearance since Saban took over in Tuscaloosa in 2007. The Crimson Tide are 4-1 in the SEC Championship Game, winning in 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2015, but falling to Florida in 2008.
