Nick Saban cigar after Tennessee honors Alabama superfan Cameron Luke Ratliff
Nick Saban may not like smoking cigars, but he takes part in the Alabama tradition after beating Tennessee by “chewing” on one.
And the cigar that he chewed on after Saturday’s win over the Vols had a special meaning.
After the game, Saban was gifted with the favorite cigar of late Alabama superfan Cameron Luke Ratliff. Ratliff passed away in 2021 after complications from COVID-19. He was a senior at Alabama.
According to R&R Cigars, a cigar store in Tuscaloosa, the cigar that Saban was handed following the game was a Casa de las Estrellas, which is known as the “Luke” cigar in honor of Ratliff.
It’s wild how so many things come full circle. Here’s Coach Nick Saban talking about @fluffopotamus88 and then tonight he was gifted a Casa de las Estrellas Luke Cigar that I because it was his favorite cigar and to honor Luke. pic.twitter.com/ahNwTBgXq1 pic.twitter.com/ekSB3QtISU

The win for Saban was sweet, and being able to honor a superfan made things ever better.
Alabama was able to mount a second-half comeback to get past the Vols, and now they’ll get the week off with the bye week. When the Tide returns to action, they’ll have a huge game waiting for them against LSU.
