The Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers have faced off in the past two national championship games, with each team winning once. However, Nick Saban’s defense has had a lot of trouble stopping Clemson WR Hunter Renfrow.

In fact, Renfrow has caught 17 passes for 180 yards and four touchdowns in his two title-game appearances against the Tide.

Now a junior, Renfrow is looking to have another big game in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day. Saban was very complimentary of the Clemson receiver during Saturday’s media day:

“The guy is very quick, very instinctive as a player, knows how to get open, makes the right decisions,” Saban added. “Very crafty, very quick, but very smart in the way he plays.”

Of course, Renfrow doesn’t have QB Deshaun Watson throwing to him this year, but Kelly Bryant has been effective this season.

Stopping Renfrow will be a key to the game, and the Tide won’t be overlooking the speedy receiver this time around.
