Nick Saban comments on the votes he received in Alabama’s Senate race

In the recent hotly contested Alabama Senate race, many voters decided to go with write-in candidates, and one of those candidates was Nick Saban.
The Crimson Tide coach received a handful of votes in the election, but not enough to be significant. Still, it shows just how popular the five-time national champion is in the state.
During Saturday’s National Championship Game media day, Saban was asked about the votes he received and a potential career in politics, and unsurprisingly, wasn’t thrilled with the prospect:
Nick Saban was asked about the write-in votes he received in Alabama's Senate race — and if he would consider a career in politics after football: "Absolutely not. I don't know how I got the votes. I wasn't really aware that I was getting votes."

Obviously, Saban still has some unfinished business in the college football world. It’s unlikely we’ll ever see him in politics, even after he retires.
However, the state of Alabama would certainly support him for likely any office.
