Nick Saban did not give his evaluation about Alabama’s coordinators, Tommy Rees on offense, or Kevin Steele on defense on Monday. At least not from the podium.

“I’m not gonna publicly comment,” Saban said. “We’re happy with the coaches we have and we’re always trying to get better, we’re all working hard together to try to get better. Trying to figure out what’s the best solution to help our team grow and develop, whether it’s style of play, doing more things than they’re capable of doing, trying to minimize the negative plays. I’m pleased with the effort that everyone is giving and trying to give input to fix those things, everyone is responsible for a better way. If we have deficiencies as a team, that’s kind of on me.”

Rees has come under fire because of the early struggles of the offense, specifically at quarterback and offensive line, and Rees was criticized for the QB play between Jalen Milroe, Notre Dame transfer Tyler Buchner and Ty Simpson. Milroe had a pair of interceptions against Texas, and was benched at South Florida where Buchner and Simpson struggled.

Alabama is 4th in the SEC in total defense, which is 19th in the country, and 12th in total offense in the SEC, and 88th in the country.
