Nick Saban discusses Alabama’s improvement on the defensive side of the ball

With quarterback Bryce Young leading the way, Alabama has been a juggernaut on offense throughout the season.
At times, however, the Crimson Tide defense has looked vulnerable, most notably in a loss to Texas A&M and a narrow win at Florida.
Alabama’s defense is unlikely to be tested this weekend against an overmatched New Mexico State team that is 1-8 on the season, but games against nationally ranked Arkansas and Auburn remain on the regular season schedule.
On Wednesday, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban was asked about his defense. He said that while he is seeing improvement on that side of the ball, there is still work to be done.
“I think we’ve made some progress, but consistency and not making mental errors and giving up big plays is something we’ve worked hard to overcome,” said Saban during the weekly SEC coaches teleconference. “… It’s a work in progress and we have to continue to do that and have everybody focus and do their job.”
Alabama’s game with the Aggies on Saturday is set for noon and wi be televised by the SEC Network.
