In 14 games last season, Alabama WR Trevon Diggs made 11 catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. He also made an impact on special teams, serving as a part-time kick returner and punt returner for the Crimson Tide.

However, Alabama started working him at cornerback during the spring, as the team has plenty of depth at wide receiver and needs to bolster its secondary.

Naturally, heading into fall camp, that has sparked some discussion as to whether Diggs will play on both sides of the ball in 2017.

However, during a press conference on Saturday, Saban shot that idea down, saying that the sophomore will focus on playing corner this year:

As a former 4-star recruit, Diggs has the speed and athleticism to succeed at either position.

How much playing time he gets on defense this fall remains to be seen, but he’ll get plenty of opportunities to prove he deserves to be on the field during training camp.
