Nick Saban and No. 6 Alabama will get a big test coming out of a bye week when they square off against host No. 10 LSU.
Saban, during his weekly radio show on Thursday night, refuted the cliche that a bye week is always an advantage, instead insisting it is situational based on the mental approach of each team.
Saban: "People always assume a bye week is a good thing, but you never know if it's a good thing or a bad thing until you go through it, see what you get done, see how you improve, see how your players respond. … That's what we're anxious to see this weekend."

Alabama is coming off a 30-6 victory against Mississippi State. Alabama quarterback Bryce Young completed 21 of his 35 passes for 249 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. Henry To’oTo’o led Alabama with 13 total tackles.
If Alabama wins this contest, it could solidify a spot in the SEC title game. The top of the SEC West is currently tied between Alabama, LSU, and No. 11 Ole Miss.
Alabama at LSU will be a primetime matchup at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday and can be viewed on ESPN. Alabama is on a 2-game winning streak vs. LSU and leads the all-time series 55-26-5.
