Nick Saban explains how he evaluates NFL prospects, including QB Bryce Young

Nick Saban has coached a lot of superstars during his time at Alabama, including many who have continued on to starring roles in the NFL.
However, he’s never produced a No. 1 overall pick during his time in Tuscaloosa. That could change this year at the 2023 NFL Draft with QB Bryce Young.
Many analysts are concerned about Young’s size (or lack thereof, though). Saban went on SiriusXM radio to discuss why teams shouldn’t be worried about that:

“The instincts, the accuracy, the awareness, the decision making to distribute the ball,” Saban said. “These things are much more significant than whether you’re 5-11 or 6-1.”
Every year, there are guys who shine at the NFL Combine and improve their draft stock despite lackluster game tape. Clearly, with Young, Saban is saying that the tape is the way to go when deciding where to take the Alabama QB.
