Nick Saban told the Alabama crowd on the set of College GameDay that this week’s matchup against Vanderbilt is a little different.

The Commodores posted the most surprising result of the 2024 college football season against Alabama, downing the No. 1 Crimson Tide and taking all the air out of a program that beat Georgia a week prior. The Alabama squad that left that game just was not the same — after starting 4-0, the Tide lost 4 of their next 9.

Back to GameDay. While opening for the matchup Saturday morning, Saban turned to the Alabama crowd and told them that revenge is not supposed to be a factor in a college football game, but it is a factor today against the Commodores.

It got quite the reaction. Check it out below:

This is the most anticipated matchup between Alabama and Vanderbilt in decades, perhaps ever. The Commodores are 5-0 on the season and ranked No. 16 in the country, but have to walk into Bryant-Denny Stadium if they want to pull off the back-to-back upset.

Diego Pavia and the rest of the Vanderbilt squad have been talking trash to Alabama pretty much all offseason. The Vanderbilt quarterback insisted the game ‘won’t be close’ if the Commodores can play within the white lines.

Saturday’s matchup is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
