Nick Saban responds to Lane Kiffin’s social media comments: ‘There’s obviously a generational gap between the two of us’

Will Nick Saban ever join Twitter? Lane Kiffin isn’t holding his breath.
The Ole Miss coach was recently a featured guest on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on National Signing Day and during the interview, Finebaum asked Kiffin if he thought Saban would ever make the leap to join social media.
“I don’t know, I don’t see it happening. I’m still working on getting him to text,” Kiffin joked.
Finebaum couldn’t believe Saban doesn’t text, so Kiffin continued.
“He does not text,” Kiffin commented. “I think Twitter is a long ways down the road before we get to that for Coach.”
While Kiffin noted Saban does things differently from the rest of the SEC coaches, the Ole Miss coach believes that’s partly why Saban has built a dynasty in Tuscaloosa.
“You know how he is, there’s a lot of things he’s not going to change. He wants to have real conversations and that’s part of why he’s so great, too,” Kiffin continued. “So instead of all the coaches texting recruits, he’s the one picking up the phone and talking to them for 30 minutes every single night. I’ve said it before, there is nobody that works harder in recruiting than Coach Saban.”
Not long after Kiffin’s interview on the show, Saban himself was asked about the exchange.
Here’s how the Alabama coach responded during his Wednesday National Signing Day press conference.
