Nick Saban did an excellent job of muzzling offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin during his three seasons in Tuscaloosa, but now that the FAU head coach has “mutually agreed” to leave and is free to speak his mind, there’s really no telling what could come out next.

Whether it’s via the Twitter account of the master troll or claiming that he is working to be in attendance for the National Championship Game in Tampa, Kiffin continues to create drama surround Alabama. Despite Kiffin’s claims, Saban refutes any chance that the former offensive coordinator will be welcome on the Alabama sideline or in a coaches box.

“No, it’s really not even possible from a legal standpoint for him to do those things,” Saban said Tuesday via teleconference. “That’s not something that we’re interested in pursuing.”

Considering the two coaches were in such “mutual agreement” on Kiffin leaving the program, it’s hard to imagine them saying the complete opposite in regards to Kiffin’s appearance in Tampa for the title game.

Just a coincidence, or is there more to this story?
