Nick Saban makes Playoff case for Alabama during ESPN Twitter CFB Show

Nick Saban and Alabama appeared to be on the outside of the College Football Playoff’s top 4 looking in heading into championship weekend across the country.
With the Crimson Tide sitting at No. 6 and behind Ohio State, though, they’ve watched both No. 3 TCU and No. 4 USC fall in their respective conference championship games.
While a 2-loss team has never made the Playoff, Saban, during ESPN’s “College Football Show” on Twitter, made the case that the Tide should be the first based on how they ended the season. After losing to LSU in overtime, Alabama beat Ole Miss, Austin Peay, and Auburn to end at 10-2.
On ESPN Twitter CFB Show, Saban made the case for Bama getting in the playoff. He talked about Bryce's injury vs. Ark and how he was limited in practice when he came back. He pointed to a 3-0 close to the season. Saban said you have to ask, "How are they playing at present?"

As far as determining who gets in and who doesn't, Saban said it should be asked — if they played a team now "would they be underdogs?"
"That's how this should play out," he said. https://t.co/o8RT6DOm4K

That said, the Tide didn’t exactly conquer the world. The victory against Ole Miss was somewhat notable, but they were heavy favorites against an FCS team in Austin Peay and were significantly favored to beat Auburn in the Iron Bowl, though. That’s coupled with Ohio State carrying just the 1 loss to Michigan — albeit a blowout.
We’ll see how the playoff committee treats TCU and USC’s losses on Sunday as it makes its final selections.
