Alabama coach Nick Saban has done it again in 2016, pressing all the right buttons and guiding the talented Crimson Tide to a No. 1 ranking and a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Because of his efforts, he was named a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year award alongside P.J. Fleck of Western Michigan, James Franklin of Penn State, Mike MacIntyre of Colorado and Chris Petersen of Washington:

Though the other coaches on the list have certainly done a good job at their schools, Saban’s Crimson Tide is the only Power 5 team that’s undefeated.
Saban may be the boring choice for the award committees at this point, based on all he’s done over the years, but that doesn’t mean he’s the wrong choice.
