Nick Saban praised the Alabama offensive line on Wednesday after practice as he met with reporters.

Specifically, Saban said Terrence Ferguson II is “playing really, really well.” Saban said Ferguson, who played in 5 games last year, has gotten bigger and stronger after he’s always had explosive power and body quickness.

“He’s very confident in what he’s doing,” Saban said, who added that the guard has also spent time at center. “He’s showing a lot of maturity. I look at him as a starter on our team.”

Saban added that he believes there are 6-7 players who could be offensive line starters.

“We’ll see what the best combination is as we go through camp,” Saban said.

About Seth McLaughlin, the starting center at the end of last year: “He’s done a really, really good job. He’s gotten bigger, gotten stronger. He’s always had a tremendous attitude. I don’t think anybody’s ever gonna go wrong hiring him, I don’t care what he ends up doing. He’s got the right stuff.”

McLaughlin played in 11 games last season, and started 8 of them.
