Nick Saban spoke to media for the final time this regular season Wednesday night ahead of Week 13’s anticipated Iron Bowl rivalry matchup against Auburn.
He was asked about the status of linebacker Deontae Lawson and safety Jaylen Key, both of whom were injury in Alabama’s win over LSU. Lawson suffered an ankle injury while Key ails from a quad injury.
Lawson especially would be huge to have back against the Tigers. He’s been a defensive leader this season in both relaying signals and on-field performance, sitting at 52 tackles with a pair of sacks and a pair of pass deflections.
Saban told reporters that both have practiced “quite a bit” this week heading into Week 13. Here’s his exact response:
“They both practiced quite a bit this week. We’ll just see how they continue to progress,” Saban said.
