Nick Saban has had many great moments as the head coach of Alabama, but there was one that stood out as the most gratifying of his tenure.
Saban recalled one of his favorite moments from his time with the Crimson Tide Friday at his weekly Hey Coach show. It had to do with Alabama’s spring game during his first year with the program.
The support from the 95k fans who attended that game has always stuck with Saban. He said it still gives him chills to this day.
“I’ve never had a more gratifying experience then when I walked in the stadium 17 years ago for the spring game, the A-Day game, and there 95k people in the stands. That still gives me cold chills to this day to know that they were that many people who were still committed to seeing the University of Alabama have a quality program and something that they could be proud of. That’s what we work toward, to try to please these people and it means a lot as well.”

There are plenty of moments to pick from Saban’s time with the Crimson Tide. There’s a reason that Alabama football has been competitive for all these years.
Alabama will host Tennessee in Week 8.
