At his Wednesday press conference, Nick Saban shared two medical updates on Alabama players. He announced that the Alabama medical staff would not clear DB Nigel Knott, effectively ending his Crimson Tide career. Saban also had an update on OL Hunter Brannon, whose future is uncertain at this point.
“He has not been cleared to come back and play,” Saban told reporters Wednesday. “What the future holds for him is still sort of a question mark whether he’ll be able to come back or play.”
The Cullman, Alabama native has yet to see the field. Brannon redshirted in 2017 and his official roster bio says he did not see any playing time for the 2018 season.
On the 247Sports Composite, Brannon was the No. 42 prospect in the state of Alabama and the No. 12 center in the 2017 recruiting class.
