After Arkansas fired offensive coordinator Dan Enos, Sam Pittman announced a few changes to the offensive coaching staff.

Arkansas wide receivers coach Kenny Guiton was promoted to interim offensive coordinator, and Derek Kief, a senior quality control specialist, was bumped up to wide receivers coach.

Kief, who just joined the Razorbacks’ staff this season, is a former Alabama wide receiver. After hearing the news of his promotion, Nick Saban was not surprised that his former player was given the role.

“Derek was a really good player here, a team guy, hard worker,” Saban said. “Smart. Doesn’t surprise me that he’s doing really, really well in coaching. So very driven guy. This is no surprise to me.”

It’s a high praise from one of the best coaches to ever do it, but now Kief will look to prove himself and possibly land the position for next season too.

Arkansas’ offense needs a lot of work, and with Enos gone, the Razorbacks are looking to make strides. Luckily for them, they get a bye week this week to give the new staff time to adjust to their new roles.
