Nick Saban says Mac Jones is running away with backup QB competition

The Alabama Crimson Tide are set at the quarterback position with Tua Tagovailoa as the starter. However, behind him, things are a bit murkier.
Competing for the backup job are incumbent Mac Jones and freshmen Taulia Tagovailoa and Paul Tyson.
On Saturday, after Alabama’s second scrimmage of fall camp, coach Nick Saban said there is a clear leader in the battle to back up Tua Tagovailoa:
Mac Jones “is way ahead of the other guys” in Alabama’s backup QB competition, Saban says. Had 1st team reps in both scrimmages.

Jones is a redshirt sophomore, and the other two are true freshmen, so it’s no surprise Jones is taking advantage of this opportunity.
How much action will he see this fall? Only time will tell.
