Nick Saban met with the media Wednesday night in advance of No. 1 Alabama’s SEC opener at 11th-ranked Florida on Saturday.

Among a number of topics, Saban offered updates on the health status of defensive backs Josh Jobe and Jalyn Armour-Davis, both of who were unavailable for Saturday’s 48-14 win over Mercer due to undisclosed injuries.

“They’ve practiced all the plays; they’re out there playing every day,” Saban said. “They seem like they’re doing OK to me.”

Jobe, a 6-1, 194-pound senior cornerback from Miami, had 5 tackles in the season opener against his hometown Hurricanes. He had 55 tackles, 11 passes defensed, and 2 sacks in 2020.

Armour-Davis, meanwhile, had 2 tackles in the Miami game after appearing primarily on special teams a year ago. The 6-1, 192-pound junior is a native of Mobile, Alabama.
