Nick Saban has supported Alabama players in protesting social injustice and encouraged them to vote, but the Crimson Tide football team won’t be getting advice from the head coach on how to vote come November.

“I’ve been very proud of our players and their response to registering to vote,” Saban said during his Tuesday press conference.

“I can tell you, we’re not endorsing any candidates. I’ve never endorsed a candidate, nor will I ever endorse a candidate or get involved in politics in any way shape or form. I don’t think that’s my place”

While Saban has avoided getting involved in Alabama politics and publicly weighing in on national elections, he has gotten involved in politics before. In 2018, Saban appeared in an ad for Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, offering his endorsement. Saban is from West Virginia.
