Alabama has been missing a key contributor on defense, Drew Sanders, in the last 3 games. Ahead of the Tennessee game, Nick Saban said the hope was to get Sanders back for the LSU game on Nov. 6.

During a recent radio interview with Eli Gold, Saban addressed the possibility of Sanders suiting up against the Tigers.

“I think there’s some possibility,” Saban told Gold, per BamaOnLine. “I think they’re gonna do some scans on him next week early in the week, and if those work out, he may be able to play in the next game. But they’ve still gotta make sure he’s healed. If he’s healed then they can clear him to play. But the technology in medicine right now like unbelievable, and they can really tell whether his wrist and thumb and all that is healed properly so he won’t get reinjured and get a setback.”

Sanders has played in 5 games, including 3 starts in Christopher Allen’s absence. Sanders has logged 20 total tackles, including one for loss, and 4 quarterback hurries.
