Two of Alabama’s early enrollees had one of the biggest plays of Friday’s scrimmage. Naturally, Nick Saban is not happy.

According to AL.com’s Matt Zenits, one of the highlights of the Crimson Tide’s second scrimmage was when freshman WR Jerry Jeudy caught a deep pass from freshman QB Tua Tagovaioa over backup cornerback Levi Wallace. Jeudy turned the long pass into a touchdown for the second-team offense.

While the play may excite UA fans, it frustrates Saban.

“I thought we missed some 50-50 balls we should have made plays on, and they turned out to be not great big plays but plays that could have been big plays for the defense but ended up being big plays for the offense,” Saban said. “Your ability to make plays on 50-50 balls is really big and we can’t give those up, whether it’s technique or keeping a guy cut off or whatever it might be.”

As mentioned above, the play was among second-teamers, but no one should be surprised by Saban’s reaction. The backup secondary was also a noted area of concern in Alabama’s first scrimmage of the spring.
