The Crimson Tide lost DL Da’Shawn Hand during the Ole Miss game Saturday night, and it looks like Hand will be out for some time.
The play was a scary one, and Hand was carted off the field following the knee injury. Nick Saban initially labeled the injury as a likely MCL strain, but that status was updated on Monday.
Saban said the injury is an MCL sprain and that Hand will be out and doubtful for this weekend. It is also possible that Hand will miss even more time as he recovers from the injury.
Aaron Suttles shared the report on Twitter:
Saban on Da'Shawn Hand: Has an MCL sprain. He will be out and doubtful for this game and maybe more.

Saban directly addressed the play that resulted in Hand’s injury, and he says that the hit was legal and will be until someone changes the rule.
Saban on cut block on Hand injury: "Until someone changes the rule, nothing illegal about it." Says he does advocate changing the rule.
